Some pics from the Elephant Bar excursion! Thanks Ben for organizing, sorry most of us didn’t make it to the Go Kart portion of the day. I am sorry I wasn’t there to shoot more photos! My first time processing a bunch of pictures with the trial version of Lightroom. The JPEG export is sorta tricky, or my browser shows different colors than Lightroom, but I could swear things looked much warmer in Lightroom as I was processing them.

A really great pic of Stephen I was able to snap. Toned a bit cooler than the rest, was inspired by the texture and color of his blue jeans jacket, and wanted to calm down the smoldering heat from his gaze!

I bought myself a new toy, the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi. It’s so much faster and fun to use than my old camera, which was an old middle-ground sort of thing between a point-and-shoot and SLR camera. It was slow, but had more options than your typical consumer digital. This new camera is way quicker on the draw and has even more fun things to use. Already bought myself a 50mm f/1.8 lens to use, which will be great in low light and for taking portraits.

Watch all five Oscar Best Picture nominated films one after another at your local participating AMC theater. Free unlimited popcorn and large drink. I don’t think I could spend all day long watching dramatic Oscar contenders, though Little Miss Sunshine at the end would certainly clear the mind of heavy thoughts.
